Mentoring Programme

Transitions HUB's 3-month Mentoring Programme gives partner organisations a structured, high-impact way to support refugee and migrant professionals restarting their careers in the UK. Mentors provide practical industry insight, confidence-building support, and access to professional networks, all of which help candidates overcome barriers such as career gaps, unfamiliar recruitment practices, and limited UK experience.

The programme

This programme is designed to be accessible, structured, and meaningful, enabling employees to use their skills in a way that creates real social impact.

Careful matching

Mentors and mentees are paired through a structured process that considers professional background, career stage, and personal goals. This ensures compatibility and a foundation for trust and effective guidance.

Training and preparation

Before mentoring begins, mentors receive orientation covering boundaries, safeguarding, and communication strategies. They also learn practical tools for goal setting and supporting mentees through career transitions.

Regular mentoring sessions

Mentors and mentees meet regularly over three months to set objectives, track progress, and tackle real-world challenges such as job applications or interview preparation. Sessions are flexible to suit both schedules.

Supervision and support

Mentors benefit from ongoing supervision - both one-to-one and group - to share experiences, reflect on challenges, and receive guidance. This helps maintain quality and consistency across the programme.

Reflection and impact

At the programme’s close, mentors and mentees come together to celebrate achievements, share success stories, and evaluate outcomes. These insights feed into future improvements and impact reporting.
